“Anti-Fascist Bees have played a role in fighting fascism for nearly a century! From saving the life of Jewish scientist beekeeper, Karl von Frisch, when disease wiped out the mono cultured species of “German Pure Bred” bee coveted by Nazis, & Karl’s diverse breeds of bee saved the honey supply, thereby saving his life; to saving the life of a young girl, Esther Krinitz, a Jewish refugee hiding in disguise in Poland, who found sanctuary in Nature & her garden, & whose life was saved when her bees attacked the Nazi soldiers who had come to question her. Esther went on to be honored by the American Visionary Art Museum for her art in quilts depicting stories of survival, & the safety & beauty found in Nature.”
