Artist, Advocate, & Activist: Ashley Anne Strobridge
Art, Science, Magic, Nature, Justice, Love, & Creativity: through Astrobridge Artistry, I aim to Communicate the Magic and Wonder of Nature, hoping to make the beauty of the natural world accessible and inviting to all. For as someone with multiple disabilities, and limited mobility, I pride myself on taking photos of, and being inspired by, beautiful scenes and beings in places that are easily accessible, whether it is on a dirt road two steps from my car door, or on an accessible nature path, or even right on my own balcony in Montpelier, VT in my “Garden in the Sky!” And it is important to me to share those photos with a world with ever diminishing access to even these relatively accessible natural surroundings.
Let’s keep our eyes open to the world around us. Science is magic, let the universe astound us!
As a Progressive Artist, I know #BlackLivesMatter #IndigenousLivesMatter #StopAsianHate #NoHumanIsIllegal #WomensRightsAreHumanRights #FatPhobiaKills #LoveIsLove #ClimateChangeIsReal #DisabilityRightsMatter #MedicareForAll #RepresentationMatters! If you buy from me your money is going toward supporting a disabled led, woman led, Progressive led business, and you are helping to support a disabled, Progressive, Fat Positive, and FATabulous Lady who is trying to put food on the table, take care of her disabled cat, and give back to the greater community with her art!
A Central Vermont native, I have traveled the country and lived in Virginia, Utah, and Vermont. I have deep Vermont roots and a love for Nature that is not only featured in my photography, but runs deep in my blood, as the daughter of a Wildlife Biologist for US Fish and Widlife, a Park Ranger and Administrator for VT Forest, Parks, and Recreation, Granddaughter of a chief Game Warden who helped found the VT Fish and Wildlife Dept, and sister to an Environmental Lawyer. My appreciation for Nature and understanding of its value is also reflected in my previous environmental positions working to protect Nature through an internship in Washington, D.C. with the Center for Climate Change Communication, communicating the urgency of Climate Change directly under an advisor President Obama on Climate Change Communication, and a position as Assistant to the Program Manager of the Private Lands program with VT State Forest, Parks and Recreation in the Forestry Division, conserving Vermont’s forests. I am also a writer, editor, artist, musician, general creator, and social and environmental justice advocate as well as being a photographer. My pieces communicate the magic and wonder of Nature, hoping to make the beauty of the natural world accessible and inviting to all.
