A 4 x 5.5 inch glossy greeting card that is blank inside.
On the front of the card is a photo of a grave stone monument of a woman, contemplative, mourning. The grave stone is a deep bluish hue, in stark contrast to the golden light behind the monument, of sunlight shining through flaxen colored autumn foliage, all framed by a dark brown tree with branching arching over the scene. I took this photo at the Green Mount Cemetery in Montpelier, Vermont, Autumn 2022. My original poetry inspired by this photo is featured below.
The golden glow of life gone by,
She waits, reclined, and seems to sigh,
Pondering thoughts we have not seen,
She is witness eternal, as Nature rends gold from green.
Sprouting from death, decay will bring life,
New generations will form, whether in love or strife.
Spring will come, but here now we rest,
As darkness falls, we heave our breast,
Letting worries fall away with each new breath,
We fall into slumber, the sweet peace of Autumn death.
A corresponding blank white envelope is included with purchase.
